Valerie Moniz
Registered Marriage & Family Therapist Intern, IMF #61889

With sensitivity and compassion, I help clients find solutions to a wide range of life challenges and mental health issues. I help clients identify and build on their individual and inherited strengths, to achieve their life goals and begin on the path to happiness.
Some of my specific areas of interest are mood disorders such as anxiety or depression, Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and working with police/fire/corrections/military and their families. I maintain an interest in solution-focused psychotherapy and practice from a humanistic perspective.
I am a candidate for a Doctorate in Psychology (PsyD), with a dissertation emphasis on satisfaction in police marriages, at Alliant International University.
I graduated from the University of Minnesota in Family Social Science and received my Master’s degree in Marital and Family Therapy at Alliant International University. Additionally, I am an adjunct professor at Union Institute and University in Sacramento and a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
