Jerry Harris, Ed.D
Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist, MFC #13966
I am a therapist with a Doctorate in Counseling Psychology who has been a manager for LDS Family Services for many years, as well as an adjunct professor for several universities. I enjoy working with people. I see myself as a knowledgeable guide, a helper along a person’s journey of change. I am a resource, a consultant, a trusted professional who can assist throughout the various stages of growth—and one who will be there all along the way.
I generally like to see clients who are young adults or older. My experience and focus is with individuals dealing with depression, anxiety or other mood disorders. I also specialize in working with married couples, people with gender issues, and those struggling with addictions.
In my work with clients I utilize a solution-focused approach, as well as drawing from attachment theory and cognitive-behavioral approaches. Professionally I have worked as a School Psychologist for several years and in private practice for over 20 years. I have made presentations for national organizations on such topics as communications, relationships and mood disorders.
I am a member of the American Psychological Association (APA), the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT). In my personal life, I enjoy spending time and traveling with my family, as well as hiking, reading, and studying history.
